Completed Rooms (Almost)

Over our Christmas break the kids decided they wanted to switch rooms. I dreaded because I knew it was going to be a chore. But now that it is done, I love it, the kids love it, and everyone is happy!! I realize they are just bedrooms, but the switch just works better. I can't really describe it, but it works better for us. I am still not quit done decorating them, but I put notes on the pictures of what is going there.

Kale's room was done in vintage sports. There is another picture that is going in the middle of the other two, it is just a odd size and I am having to special order the frame.

Fallon's room is the same with the same theme, just a little better organized!!

This will give an idea of what the rooms look like now, well just when I clean it!!

Have a Great Monday!!

Snow 2010

Thursday night I got a text at 11pm saying there is no school Friday and to be honest I was pretty upset. I don't want to miss school days only because we have to make up those days at the end of the school year. And I didn't understand why school would be canceled when it was 34 degrees outside and knowing nothing is sticking. But in the end I really enjoyed spending the day with the family not really getting to go anywhere. Kale was supposed to have a game last night and again this morning, but they were both canceled. Here are some pictures of the day as we get iced then snowed in....
It sleeted all morning turning over to snow around 1pm. Here is the first picture of the snow starting.

Here is the ice with the snow starting to settle in on top.

This picture was taken around 5pm. There was 2 inches of snow and it was still snowing so hard.

And the kids had a blast. We have had snow before, but here in the south it usually is a dusting to 1 inch or so, never like this.

They tried to make a snow man, but the snow was to dry and wouldn't stick together.

But since the snowman didn't work out, then they got dad with snowballs.

But it doesn't take dad long to get revenge.

Then he buried them in the snow.

Today when we woke up there was so much more snow everywhere.

We ended up getting 5 inches total.

This is the kids first 'real' big snow and they have had a blast. I am so ready to get out and about, the snow is beautiful at the house but I want to see it at other places!! And we are planning on Snow Skiing for our vacation this year and now that the kids got a taste of it, they are so excited about it now!!!

100th Day!!

Today was the 100th day of school and our elementary schools make a huge deal out of the 100th day. Kale had a project where he had to glue 100 things to a piece of whatever and bring it to school. He used macaroni and glued all of them on a piece of paper that wrote out the number 100 with smiley faces in the zeros.
But let me back up a little. A couple of months ago the school had a food drive and which ever class brought the most canned food got a popcorn party. Kale told his teacher that if his class didn't win his dad could just bring popcorn to the class and have a party. Then Kale came home and told us what he said. Paul had forgotten about it till last week and emailed his teacher and told her he would still have a popcorn party if she would like. She said that would be great but wait till today and they could just have it for the 100th day celebration. Paul called his dad and told him what he was doing and Papaw said we can't just bring popcorn, lets have a big party. (Paul's dad owns the local grocery store) So we threw a full party for Kale's class today and here are a few pictures!!!

This is leading down the First Grade Hallway!! You had to crawl through the zeros to get through!!

This is Kale just getting in from recess!!

Here is part of the food that was brought. Cookies, fruit tray, and cheese!!

Then of course the popcorn!! And a little OJ.

Herman (aka Papaw) discussed food and nutrition with the kids!

Kale listening and taking in everything that is going on.

Papaw & Kale

Kale's teacher and Paul helping the kids fill their plates!!

And Kale filling his plate!!
He had a great day, they had fun filled day with all sorts of '100th day' projects!!

Putting it all out there.....

This is one of the hardest post I have ever done. It is all about me and it is a subject about me that I avoid and don't like to talk about and don't like for people to call me out on. In the last probably 4 or 5 years my weight has steadily been increasing. When I look in the mirror I still see my old self and I think that resulted in making the situation worse. I was very athletic growing up and once I had Kale that all came to a halt. And my weight shot straight up. It wasn't till this past May, I was at my sister's wedding and there was some family there that I hadn't seen in years and they didn't even recognize me because I had gained so much weight. That hurt more than anything, even more than when the person who gave birth to me said I was no longer her daughter. It has taken several months and several months of soul searching and talking with my really really good friends, Watkins and Baskin, that we have decided to kick each others butt and get each other back into fighting shape. One way I am holding myself accountable for it is to create another blog that I will journal in everyday and if you would like to join this ride with me, I would love to have you and even some encouraging words every now and then would be great!

Here is the link and I will make the blog more pretty when I have time and find something I like.

Goodbye My Friend..

This morning we got the news that a dear friend has passed away. This man is someone that Paul was very close to. He was diagnosed with cancer just a couple of months ago and I just can't get over how fast this cancer took his life. This picture was taken at mine and Paul's wedding.

Mr. Jim Dickerson (second from right) is someone that Paul looked up to and adored. Paul only had one grandpa growing up and Jim was always there for him if Paul ever needed anything. He will dearly missed and pray for his family on this sad day...

Last 2 Weeks!! (Sorry Long Post)

It has been crazy busy the last few weeks and I have completely forgot about my blog and I am so sorry. I am taking 12 hours in graduate school and that really has me tied up right now. But when I do have free time, this will give a little glimpse into my life. The weekend before school/work started back the kids decided they wanted to switch rooms and so we did. It was hard and in the end I am glad we did, the rooms just work now and we got rid of about a truck load of toys, clothes, and trash. It is so nice!!

This was in he midst of the switch.

The other hallway during the switch.
I will get some after pictures when I get all the stuff hung on the walls!!

Then at work it was basketball homecoming this week. I love homecoming week, I love anything that gets more school spirit going!! I just took pictures on Friday, but here a few!!

Fallon and I at the game!

Kale and Ethan!!

Randa and Kale, (she is one of Kale's first friends ever)

Randa is trying to teach the boys some math!!

The next few pictures are from the pep rally during school. I hand my camera to a student who everyone loves but at the same time he can be a thorn in your side, but you just gotta love him. Well, first I yell at him and ask him if he will take a picture of Serena and I and said sure, but he walks over and stands beside her and we are like what are you doing. Then I get him the camera and he gets snap happy. This was the result.

Then we finally get a good one!!!!

Another big thing that has happened lately is Paul and I have decided we are planning on moving when I get done with school. We want to put our house on the market as soon as I get done with school (which is this year, December, yea) and get some other things done and move, not just move houses, but move out of town. We are really excited and are ready for a fresh start in a new place!!! So little by little we are going to be fixing things or updating things in the house! First on the list is the kitchen faucet!! Mine broke about a year ago and it finally got fixed and I love the one we got!!
Sorry it is such a long post, didn't realize it has been that long since I posted last!! Everyone have a great week!!!

My Life the Past Decade!!!

In the last decade, it has been fun filled with a lot happen that has happened in my life. I am going to list a few things of the past decade on here!! These are just the highlights and what I can remember!!

2000: I was Miss Rodeo Arkansas. I traveled to many states, bear with me I am going to list them so I can remember them later on. I traveled to Mississippi, Texas, Tennessee, Florida, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, (got stranded at the airport in Denver) Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas, and all over the state of Arkansas!! This was by far one of the best years of my life!!

2002: Kale was born!! July 5, 2002 at 7:19pm weighing 7 pounds 8 ounces and 20 inches long!!!

2003: Paul and I got married!! November 1, 2003 at the Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs!!

2006: Fallon was born!! July 17, 2006 at 3:38pm weighing 9 pounds 3 ounces and 20 inches long.

2008: I graduated college with my undergraduate degree!! Paul took pictures of me graduating but not one of them are in focus...

2009: I started getting my masters degree!! And I conquered one of my biggest fears, I danced in front of 500 high school students and all of the schools administration as well as parents. We danced to Thriller and it was awesome, I only messed up once but I recovered very smooth.

I realize I left a couple of years out, but those years nothing "big"really happened, I call them the idle years!! I have no idea what the next decade is going to bring us, but I plan to live it to the fullest!! As a family we have some big plans that we hope to accomplish, but more importantly I want to live for the Lord and and see where He leads my family and I to!!
Happy New Year to all my blog friends!!!
